Sarah Jessica Parker May Be Launching a Line of Hair Bows
Give Sarah Jessica Parker a gala theme and she'll deliver every time. So it's no surprise her latest red carpet moment at the New York City Ballet 2023 Fall Gala was a masterclass in balletcore, from the tulle-skirted, off-the-shoulder dress to her bow-accented hairstyle.
Parker’s longtime hairstylist, Serge Normant, hinted that the Sex and the City star, 58, may be gearing up to launch a line of hair bows while chatting exclusively with PEOPLE about the head-turning, ankle-grazing ribbon the actress wore to the event.
“We decided we wanted to incorporate a grosgrain bow into her look for this year’s NYC Ballet Fall Gala, so we made a trip to M&J Trimming and bought that gorgeous, thick ribbon,” Normant tells PEOPLE of stopping at the famous fabric trimmings store in N.Y.C.
“After trying out a few different ideas, we were thrilled with where we landed,” he says, adding that both he and Parker “loved the way it cascaded down her back with the extra length.”
The hair stylist — who has also worked with stars like Julia Roberts, Brooke Shields and Meghan Markle — says that the And Just Like That fashionista “loves incorporating grosgrain wherever she can.”
“She used it around the collar of her signature fragrance, Lovely, 20 years ago, and it’s a distinguishing feature on all SJP Collection shoes,” he continues, adding that the star “also used to wear one in her hair every day as a young girl.”

Normant also has a message for those inquiring about the latest look in Parker’s lifelong love affair with hair bows — hang tight.
“For all of those who’ve inquired, stay tuned as you might hear about these bows more very soon,” he hints.
When it comes to creating a standout red carpet look that photographs flawlessly, Normant relies on his best-selling, award-winning Dream Big Instant Volumizing Spray, which has become a hero product for him and his clients.
Stars including Paris Hilton and Christy Carlson Romano may be first in line to buy one of the Parker-approved hair accessories.
On Normant’s Instagram post documenting the gala look, Hilton wrote, “Wow she looks stunning! 👸🏼 Who made that bow?”
Romano did not shy away from her desire to emulate the actress’ look, commenting, “SJP wore a long a-- black bow, so I’m gonna wear a long a-- black bow," on Parker’s post.
Other celebrities who expressed admiration for the bow and the rest of the actress’ gala ‘fit — which also included a black, off-the-shoulder dress, mismatched SJP Collection sandals and a silver handbag — include Kristin Chenoweth, who wrote, “Best. Look. Ever,” and Ellen Pompeo, who lauded it with several crown emojis.
The Hocus Pocus actress attended the star-studded gala, whose guest list also included Vanessa Williams, Justin Theroux and Molly Ringwald, alongside her husband, Matthew Broderick.
Parker and Broderick, 61, shared a cute moment on the red carpet when the Sex and the City star sweetly adjusted the bow tie on Broderick’s suit, as seen in a video captured by PEOPLE.
