'Hutch talks to me from grave'
Kylie Minogue claims her dead ex-boyfriend, Michael Hutchence, has communicated with her from beyond the grave.
The singer said she believes the InXS frontman has been reincarnated and that he is not the only 'ghost' she talks to.
She said in an interview that she felt a stronger link to Hutchence now than when she dated him in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
"From experiences with the deceased and with the sixth sense, there must be much more than the here and now," she added.
"I have had one particularly intense experience that let me know that Michael was still around. Like he had come to say "hello"."
Miss Minogue met Hutchence in a bar in their native Australia in 1988. They dated until 1991 when he dumped her for the supermodel Helena Christensen.
The 35-year-old says the relationship is still the most important in her life.
Hutchence later began a stormy relationship with the TV presenter Paula Yates before he was found dead in a Sydney hotel room in 1997.
Miss Minogue said: "Sometimes when people have passed you feel closer to them. I think we're very early in the evolutionary scale. We don't use a fraction of our brains yet. To be honest mine is on economy some days."
Miss Minogue told the U.S. magazine Blender she believed in an afterlife and "a universal power".
She said: "The soul is the endlessness of our beings, it is indefinite and we are just passing through.
"I believe I have lived before but I am not very advanced in my series of lives.
"I'm not even into double figures. I don't have a visual memory of my past lives but I believe I came from somewhere."
Miss Minogue, who moved to London in the late 1980s and now lives in Chelsea, said she has a strong moral code because she believed in a 'peaceful place' where 'people who have lived good lives will achieve peace'.
"God is either a universal energy outside of us or a life force within us. Or both," she added.
Miss Minogue's other past relationships have included Jason Donovan, her co-star in Neighbours, and the singer Lenny Kravitz.
She also had an on-off relationship with British model James Gooding, which finally ended amid public tantrums and accusations of infidelity, and a reported fling with Justin Timberlake. She also briefly dated Robbie Williams, and Tim Jefferies, the owner of Hamilton's art gallery in London.
Despite the string of romances, Miss Minogue has professed to being unlucky in love.
In an interview with Michael Parkinson last month she said she regretted not getting married in her early 20s and believes she has lost the chance of marital bliss.
Asked if she would like to marry her current boyfriend, the French actor Olivier Martinez, Kylie said: "For quite a number of years I've looked at my parents.
"They are still together, still in love, they miss each other madly, they hold hands and canoodle. They're the best example for me.
"It slightly pains me to think I will never have that, my chance has already gone. Because I'm 35. They did that when they were 22."
